North American Consciousness-Based
Education Tour to Begin September 18th
Renowned Panel of Educators and Scientists to Showcase 30 Years of Scientific Research and Classroom Experience with the Transcendental Meditation® Program
On September 18th, a renowned panel of educators and scientists will launch a two-month international tour to promote Consciousness-Based education and the impact of the Transcendental Meditation program on educational outcomes (see schedule below).
This tour will build on the remarkable success of the education conferences held earlier this year in New England and the Southwest, which created a huge demand for the Transcendental Meditation program in schools across the nation (for a full report, click here).
The tour will visit 25 cities across the U.S. and Canada and will focus on children’s health and education—including effective ways to improve academic achievements and prevent and treat stress, anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities.
The presentations in each city will provide local educators, government leaders, health professionals, and foundations with a complete introduction to the Transcendental Meditation program—including the 30 years of scientific research and classroom experience documenting its practical, wide-ranging benefits for both students and teachers. The speakers will also give step-by-step information about how to start Consciousness-Based educational programs in schools. The conference will showcase the seven-year success of the TM® program at the award-winning Nataki Talibah Schoolhouse of Detroit.
Dr. Ashley Deans, director of the award-winning Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa, will also speak about his new book A Record of Excellence: The Remarkable Success of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment and about the achievements of this flagship school for Consciousness-Based education (see http://www.maharishischooliowa.org).
To register online to attend these conferences, just click on the link in the schedule below for the event you wish to attend. Tour presentations are luncheon conferences scheduled between 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m., with an optional Q&A session (see event websites for specific times). The cost, which includes luncheon and conference materials, ranges up to $50 and is specified on each event website; however, this fee is waived for educators and other professionals dedicated to student health and well-being. For a list of conference speakers and their backgrounds, please visit www.midwest.stressfreeschools.org/panelists.html
If you live near any of the cities on these tours, we urge you to attend these powerful presentations—and to encourage your family and friends, especially those involved in education, to attend as well. The tour schedule, phone contacts, and links to online registration are given below.
