Dr. John Hagelin Outlines Plan for
National Security and World Peace

Institute Director Dr. John Hagelin, President of the US Peace Government and renowned quantum physicist and public policy expert, is promoting a powerful new peace initiative that can make every country secure from attack and create lasting peace for all nations.

Dr. Hagelin is urging the implementation of a new, scientifically proven approach to peace based on the most recent discoveries of modern science. “This approach is the most thoroughly tested and rigorously established technology for peace and national security in the world today,” Dr. Hagelin said. “It generates a palpable, measurable effect of peace that creates a fertile environment in which diplomatic and other conventional approaches can actually succeed. It should be the central component of any comprehensive approach to peace and national security.”

Dr. Hagelin has laid out a practical plan for President Bush and the international diplomatic community explaining how to end the escalating violence and win the peace in Iraq.

The approach calls for the immediate establishment of a group of 8,000 peace-creating experts who will achieve what hundreds of billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of US troops have failed to do—bring peace to Iraq and simultaneously create an indomitable influence of peace throughout the world to safeguard all nations from violence and terrorism. (To find out more about the principles and research underlying this approach, please visit www.invincibility.org.)

Simultaneously, to further bolster this global approach to peace, Dr. Hagelin is also leading an international effort to establish large peace-creating groups in every country, thereby creating security and peace on the national scale. The size of these national groups varies from just a few hundred peace-creating experts for smaller countries to a few thousand for larger countries, according to the threshold number established by scientific research to create the predicted effect (approximately the square root of one percent of the given population).

Traditional approaches fail to address the underlying cause of conflict

“Today every nation is vulnerable—and conventional military approaches are increasingly powerless to protect a nation against terrorist attack, against new destructive technologies, or against missiles with pinpoint accuracy,” Dr. Hagelin said. “Diplomatic efforts seem equally powerless. In a world divided by deep-seated hostilities and regional tensions, negotiated settlements and ceasefires have brought temporary relief, at best. Paper treaties and discussions among representatives of warring nations are too fragile a basis for lasting peace.”

Dr. Hagelin said that research shows that traditional approaches to defense fail because they do not address the underlying cause of violence and conflict: they do not relieve the acute political, ethnic, and religious tensions that fuel terrorism and war.

“We need an effective means to eliminate these deep-seated tensions—a proven approach that can prevent violence and bloodshed and promote peace and prosperity in the world,” he said.

A powerful approach to peace has been field tested for 25 years

During the last 25 years, such a powerful, innovative approach to peace has been extensively field tested—in the Middle East and throughout the world. “The consistent result has been dramatic reductions in terrorism, war, and other social violence,” Dr. Hagelin said. “These findings have been replicated, published in leading academic journals, and endorsed by hundreds of independent scientists and scholars. The efficacy of this approach is now beyond question.

“These studies verify that the scientific knowledge and technologies are now available to end terrorism and conflict, to achieve indomitable national strength and security, and to create permanent world peace. By implementing a group of 8,000 experts practicing these technologies, every government can rise to invincibility and secure the peace and safety of its citizens. But the time to act is now,” Dr. Hagelin said.
